Use --force-bad-version then.

You better use a lower version in order to preserve the upgrade path.
Right now your package has a higher version than in unstable :)

I doubt so. There is still -mtune=686 that is used.

If you want to change these flags, modify
debian/patches/mcpu-to-mtune.patch.
Just remember to issue "debuild clean" before changing the patch or
otherwise it will not unapply cleanly.

Or, try gentoo :)
