With thekind assistance of Alex Peshkoff (of firebird-devel), this can
finally be fixed.
The ib_util library in firebird2.5 (to be found in the libib-util
package in Debian) can work with 2.5 and prior servers.
So by installing libib-util, your UDF shall run just fine, also across
firebird server upgrades.
Pierre, please give it a try and report back if it helps.
I intent to add Suggests: libib-util to the next uploads.
