It seems I am able to reproduce the issue with the following piuparts 
command:

 sudo nice piuparts --skip-logrotatefiles-test --warn-on-others \
 --scriptsdir /etc/piuparts/scripts --warn-on-leftovers-after-purge \
 --dpkg-noforce-unsafe-io --mirror http://proxy:9999/debian \
 --tmpdir /var/cache/pbuilder/build -b /var/cache/pbuilder/lenny.tgz \
 -d lenny -d squeeze -d wheezy --warn-on-debsums-errors \
 --apt libfbclient2=2.5.2~svn+54698.ds4-2

I will test the binary packages with the fix applied and file 
a pre-approval request with the release team.
