What I actually don't like in this fix is that it cannot be a patch
that applies to the fonts source...

we should really try to understand why this happens....I'm not aof
great help here as, even though I'm the package maintainer, I'm
anything but a font expert.

Indeed, Jan, I deeply appreciate your commitment. Hopefully it will go
as far as finding a solution through a patch to the SFD files....

Indeed, I'd be glad to consider you as co-maintainer of the package,
given the help that you recently bringed in its maintenance.
