On now, yessssss. Replacing "Width: 0" by "Width: 600" in all FreeMono
sfd files made it.

As you mentioned, I had to "dpkg-reconfigure fontconfig" to be sure
that everything is recognizing it (OOo, KDE....which I had to restart,
etc.).
