IIRC, back at the LGM in Montréal, George Williams said he was hoping to
get support for this font format in FontForge soon.

And yes, we don't have full external sources for all the open fonts in
the archive yet and not all open fonts have their complete build process
opened up and debianised yet but I can guarantee you that it's a goal.
Python scripting support in FontForge is a great step in that direction.

In the particular case of this font, there is no other open font with
coverage of that Unicode block, so support for this writing system is
pretty much stabilised. There's a much more pressing need to get a build
process ready for other fonts and to do review of fonts in the archive
wrt. to licensing clarity.
