would you mind giving a try to a backport of a version from wheezy
1.1.5-3?  Meanwhile I have uploaded a backport build of 1.1.5-3 to
http://neuro.debian.net so you could give it a try.  Specific .deb's are
avail from http://neuro.debian.net/debian/pool/main/f/freeipmi ?
