I've installed debian on my Neo1973 (GTA01vb4) and have made the
following modifications to make things work well.

See http://trac.freesmartphone.org/ticket/253
See http://docs.openmoko.org/trac/ticket/1267
The person on the other end hears themselves echoed back making
conversations difficult.
The fix for this has been floating around but is not yet included upstream.
So until upstream fixes it, perhaps this patch would be useful:

fso-frameworkd_echofix.patch.gz

There is no suitable fso-config-gta01 package. I believe it was the
intention that the source package openmoko-files
would generate this package but that was never implemented. Here is a
patch against openmoko-files to make it generate
an fso-config-gta01 package in addition to the fso-config-gta02
package it already makes.

openmoko-files_gta01.patch.gz
