actually python-notify should not be a dependency .. at least this is
what i had in mind
python-notify should only be required when you (the user) wants
notifications displayed by
either notification-daemon or notification-damon-xfce (so one of
these also _has_ to be
installed to see the notifications ;))
i propose python-notify & (notification-daemon | notification-daemon-
xfce) as recommendations and not as dependencies

i have seen this too - but here i also have no idea yet what to do ..
(i stared my python-career with this project - so for me there are a
lot of things to discover ..)
