There's also a shortcut that I like to use: write a good command line
help, then use help2man[1] to generate manpages. That'll give you both
manpages and a good command line help, and guarantee that they are in
sync.

You can pass options to tweak the output, including adding extra
sections like long descriptions and examples that may not fit in the
command line help.
