Hi,

I haven't read anything on the lists (smartphones-userland and
pkg-fso-maint), so I'm a little bit confused if this an April's Fool
which just got relayed after 1st of April:

  http://www.bernerzeitung.ch/digital/mobil/Vorlaeufig-kein-weiteres-LinuxTelefon/story/15176367
  (via https://www.symlink.ch/article.pl?sid=09/04/03/1018240)

Both articles are in German. They say that OpenMoko Inc.'s CEO said at
OpenExpo (a controversial Swiss Open Source Business fair held this
week in Berne) that OpenMoko Inc. will stop development on the GTA03
and laid off half of the employees. They will focus on another device
ready for the mass market from the beginning instead.

The Symlink article is from 3rd of April. The newspaper articles is
"last edited 2nd of April". So is this true or not?

What also makes me suspicious is that there's no announcement on

  http://www.openmoko.com/press.html

and http://www.freesmartphone.org/index.php/Main_Page doesn't list
Sean Moss-Pultz but Michael 'Mickey' Lauer as speaker (on 2nd of
April).

OTOH Sean Moss-Pultz is listed as speaker for 2nd of April on

  http://www.openexpo.ch/openexpo-2009-bern/konferenzprogramm/business-track/#r01

And the slides at

  http://www.openexpo.ch/fileadmin/documents/2009Bern/Slides/BusinessTrack/01_SeanMossPultz.pdf

go into that direction, but don't sound as worse as the both news
articles. And nothing of lay-offs in the slides. So what's really
going on?

		Regards, Axel
