[pkg-fso-maint] wishlist: transparent qwo

Hi All,

I want to configure qwo keyboard to be transparent following great
instructions from  Richard Kralovic
http://kedrigern.dcs.fmph.uniba.sk/~riso/Openmoko/qwo/

I wonder if it would be possible to accomplish the mission in a proper
way so we could have it 'out of box' on Debian-powered phones...
that would be a killer feature imho for anyone installing Debian on FR

steps needed

1. (simple one ?) patched Xglamo (that page has a patch but not
sure if it applies cleanly against the version in pkg-fso)

2. (not that simple) make illume aware if we deal with transparent or
not keyboard. Richard simply  patched illume to don't account for
keyboard size, but that is not a generic solution.

 a. imho, the best would be to add option to illume's configuration of
 keyboard to signal either to account for keyboard size or not...

 b. alternative could be to add a field to .desktop which would signal
 either keyboard is transparent (then in qwo I could ship qwo and
 qwo-transparent .desktop files)


Do you think it is doable in a reasonable amount of time? I myself help
0 experience with illume code so I hope that somehow who has a clue
could make a proper patch for 2a
