[pkg-fso-maint] Any known-working configuration currently?

Hi all,
I have to admit I'm lost with the current status of FSO and SHR in
Debian currently. Up to a few days ago, I had a mostly-working phone:
zhone would ask for my PIN, and initiate and receive calls. The
phoneuid stuff was just annoyingly stealing the focus from time to time,
and there was probably some bug within a daemon that would crash without
freeing the CPU resource, so no more suspend after the first call. I
could live with that.
With the latest round of updates to sid in the recent days, I can't
even seem to get the PIN to the SIM, so I can't do any GSM stuff. I
tried switching back and forth between fso-abyss, fso-gsm0710muxd,
fso-gsmd, enabling/disabling various subsystems in framework.conf,
rebooting and so on, and I'm not thoroughly confused. I disabled Zhone
from my .xsession, and the SIM Auth screen shows up but fails to
disappear after I type the PIN. The frameworkd.log file keeps scrolling
with the following errors:
,----
| 2010.08.13 14:55:17.911 ogsmd.modems.ti_calypso CRITICAL Error allocating channel ogsmd.unsolicited : org.freesmartphone.GSM.MUX.SessionOpenError: Can't initialize the session
| 2010.08.13 14:55:17.918 ogsmd.modem.abstract ERROR could not open channel UNSOL, retrying in 2 seconds
| 2010.08.13 14:55:17.925 ogsmd.modems.ti_calypso INFO Requesting new channel from 'fso-abyss'
`----
(…and similar for MISC and CALL). Running Zhone by hand (or from
.xsession) doesn't give me better results: the UI for PIN entry is
there, but typing it in and validating ends up in the phone-related
icons to stay greyed out in Zhone.
I freely admit I'm out of my depth, and I would like to humbly ask
whether there's a configuration that's known to work (or at least
supposed to work), for "work" being defined as "able to do and receive
calls". Maybe it's a single line in my frameworkd.conf, maybe it's a
missing package (or one I should remove)…
My frameworkd.conf currently looks like this (comments and empty lines
removed for brevity):
