I am generally in favor of having packages team-maintained.  I feel that 
team-maintainance has a higher chance of not causing bit-rot.  It might 
just be pure imagination :-)

Personally I hesitate getting involved in maintaining more packages, 
however, as I am already involved in more than 130 (and not all of them 
with as much love as I would have liked). Also in this particular team I 
have so far only lurked mostly, so my input should probably be taken 
lightly.
