Wow, great news! :) I'm updating my GTA02 as we speak.

I was mainly looking at the Python bindings which are severely out of
date. Of course I'd only have needed them for Zhone1 which is not FSO2
compliant, but maybe there are others.

Most of the C libraries have a newer release upstream as well, but
indeed Debian mostly has the 1.0 releases. It's great that they have
migrated to testing now.
