Dear Sir,
For two years I have been trying to
reach an appropriate forum to get my
idea of using a computer as a phone
with a combination of [computer +
HSPA-USB Datamodem + GSM SIM +
Close-Talk Mic-headphone] in Ubuntu,
Knoppix, Debian and Stackoverflow
forums.
I think finally I have reached
the correct place.
All these datamodems have a native
windows dashboard that enables windows
users to utilise this facility, but
unfortunately, there seems no
dashboard for Linux systems, and even
if there is, it doesn't work, otherwise
I would be using that!
I have been trying the above project
for sometime in my Linux system. I
don't use Windows.
I believe all the tools are available
in linux, just integration is required.
I am learning Assembly language and
digital logic and also trying to delve
into the issue myself. But I need a
guru to guide me.
But if some of you are thinking
along these lines we could help the FOSS
community. Do you have any plans to
implement the idea?
Regards,
Rajib Bandopadhyay
