As described in your link, the Desktop Menu Specification has, amongst many other categories:
- "VectorGraphics" for a "Vector based graphical application"
- "RasterGraphics" for a "Raster based graphical application"
- "3DGraphics" for a "3D based graphical application".

If every application that uses graphics at all was put in one of those
three categories depending on what kind of graphics it uses, the
categories wouldn't be useful to anyone. Fortunately, that's not what
they're used for -- they're used for programs about creating and/or
viewing graphics. The main exceptions in Ubuntu currently are four games
inappropriately classified as "3DGraphics", of which Trigger Rally is
one.

The reason this is a problem is given in the steps to reproduce.
Probably the problem is only showing up now because nothing as high-
profile as Ubuntu Software Center has exposed the "3DGraphics" category
before, so developers haven't seen the effect of using it
inappropriately.

1. In Ubuntu Software Center 1.1.16 or later, navigate to "Graphics" > "3D".

What you see: Trigger is in the list.
What you should see: Trigger is not in the list.

To fix the bug: Remove the "3DGraphics" category from the game's .desktop file.
