The fixed package is in Natty at least. I've marked the bug "fix
released" accordingly.

Title:
wrong version is packaged: 1.8 not 1.9

Status in “doom-wad-shareware” package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released
Status in “doom-wad-shareware” package in Debian:
  New

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: doom-wad-shareware

doom-wad-shareware claims to be version 1.9 of the upstream IWAD but is in fact 1.8. See http://doom.wikia.com/wiki/DOOM1.WAD for a table of MD5 hashes for the various versions.

If you run chocolate-doom and leave it to play a demo, it will quit out and complain with

"*** You may need to upgrade your version of Doom to v1.9. ***
    See: http://doomworld.com/files/patches.shtml
    This appears to be v1.8."

This bug is common to the upstream Debian package.
