Currently, anyone installing Teeworlds on Lucid will probably want to
update to the newly released 7.7-3ubuntu1 package.

It contains the following fix (taken from the Debian changelog):

+commit fdfa4c85297d5d25e7256bf73e35309b358af86c
+Date: Sat Jan 23 17:27:21 2010 +0100
+
+ st/mesa: fix unsigned/signed breakage in scissor
+
+ commit 53174afeeb introduced a portability change that converted GLint x,y
+ to GLuint. That breaks when x and y are negative, which seems to be allowed,
+ and which at least one game uses : teeworlds.
+
+ Rather than simply reverting the change, it seems possible to convert the
+ 16bit unsigned to GLint so that comparisons are made between signed integers
+ instead. This hopefully does not break anything while keeping MSVC happy.

This package should be included in Lucid alpha 3 and later.

Status in “teeworlds” package in Ubuntu: New

Bug description:
The current version of Teeworlds is 0.5.1 http://teeworlds.com/?page=news&id=3242
But Ubuntu ships Teeworlds 0.4.3 in its repositories, which is obsolete (all servers are currently running version 0.5.x which is not compatible with older version), making Teeworld's installation from Ubuntu's repository TOTALLY useless.

It has been a long time since the 0.5's release (many time before the Ubuntu 9.04 release…), and no critical bug has been reported. Moreover: a bug-fix release has been release, making the 0.5.1 a very stable version.

Please update the Teeworlds version in the Ubuntu repository, since the old one makes no point anymore.

(PS: Why games should have their last version in the repositories : https://lists.launchpad.net/ubuntu-gaming/msg00037.html)
