Actually the problem appears to be compatibility issues with libphysfs -
there was a patch which fixed a symlink for the old .so.1 but this has
since been removed breaking lincity-ng and probably a few others things
too.

When I try to start lincity-ng, it only prints:
lincity-ng: error while loading shared libraries: libphysfs-1.0.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
and then exits.
