Well my graphics card isn't old - HD4870 and I followed the Eirikr steps
too. Got the same segfault whenever I try to start it. I saw some
patches on the official sourceforge page - "Set of patches, including
one that enables Funguloids to work with Ogre 1.6", but didn't
understood how can I use them...

When trying to install Funguloids i get this error message:

The following packages have unmet dependencies.
  funguloids: Depends: ogre-plugins-cgprogrammanager but it is not installable
E: Broken packages

I have all the repositories enabled (see attached sources.list) and packages.ubuntu.com confirms the file is missing.
