Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: sauerbraten-data
I am using Ubuntu 10.04 (amd64) and installed the following packages from maverick
- sauerbraten_0.0.20100728.dfsg-2_amd64.deb
- sauerbraten-data_0.0.20100728-1_all.deb
in order to play the latest sauerbraten without any problems.
Problem is that some servers check somehow (maybe md5sum) if you use modified maps and report them so admins could for example kick you for using modified maps.
So after installing those two packages an admin of psl.sauerleague.org (gameserver) told me to not use modified maps. But as I had the packages just installed before I went playing I couldn't have edited them... not even by accident.
I checked the md5sum of the map I was accused to have modified and compared the md5sum to the map included in the tar.bz2 which could be downloaded from sauerbraten.org
- sauerbraten_2010_07_28_justice_edition_linux.tar.bz2
and they don't match.
- *.tar.bz2
md5sum shipwreck.ogz
4c0c8d6fec4ff1389bf958a683c931e0 shipwreck.ogz
- *.deb
md5sum shipwreck.ogz
f0354e7fa6b4561328e45333628c2d04 shipwreck.ogz
There are some more maps where the md5sum don't match.
So it would be cool if the package could be checked. The *.ogz files can be found in:
