Sorry I realise my response here was a bit curt.  There is an existing
"request for package" for prboom-plus in Debian at
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=559132 .  I do not have
the time to take on any more doom packages, but I would be happy to
sponsor/mentor someone who was interested in packaging prboom-plus in
Debian.  It could then trickle into Ubuntu (as prboom does).  I can't
support/sponsor/mentor someone who wanted to put prboom-plus directly
into Ubuntu, as I presently do not regularly use it (and not in a
Desktop games capacity). I am also not aware of the process for
introducing new packages to Ubuntu via such a route.

Note that the Debian and Ubuntu games teams are closely related.

  It would be good to replace prboom with prboom-plus.
  prboom seems dead from long time, while prboom-plus is actively maintained, and has a lot of more features and bugs fixed.
