That screen shot is before the crash.  The crash occurs after you select
the "Random Scenario" and the generation of the random world, just
before (presumably) the actual game starts.

I'm not sure what you mean by "figure arround with the newest(your
kernel)".  Are you suggesting that I upgrade to Quantal?  If I'm not
mistaken Quantal hasn't yet reached "beta".

My kernel comes from the xorg-edgers repository as I needed the latest
nvidia drivers for the Optimus Nvidia Quadro K2000M in this laptop.

I find it rather hard to accept the theory that the bug is in the
standard libraries and this is the only application that triggers it on
my system.
