Ubuntu 12.04 and still here. If I take out the ; in the config file
(which now is in .config/gmameui/gmameui.ini as soon as I launch GMAMEUI
it reverts back to the ; terminated one (only on the samples directory)

  Unable to add directories. Just to add the executable and roms. The
  buttons to "add" directory does not respond. If the route is added by
  hand, does not save changes.
