I'd suggest opening a backport request using requestbackport from
ubuntu-dev-tools for 12.04, 12.10, and 13.04 (can be done with one
command).  11.10 is past EOL and unless the current package is totally
broken, I'm not sure it'll be allowed as a Stable Release Update
(https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates).  4.2.1 is now in saucy
(13.10), so it should be backportable.

  Fix Released

Bug description:
  The current version in the Ubuntu repositories is painfully out of
  date, and we now have a new release (4.2.1) that is stable and works
  much better than the one in the Ubuntu repo's. The packages can be had
  at playonlinux.com for all architectures.

  This should be updated for 11.10, 12.04, 12.10, and 13.04, as it works
  on all of them.

  Version in software center is ~4.1.1, newest is 4.2.1.
