Public bug reported:

Running Lubuntu 15.10 LiveCD in VirtualBox

- run dreamchess
- change the resolution:
- choose 1024x768, fullscreen=on, click OK
- **dreamchess crashes**

- run dreamchess,
- change the resolution to 640x480, fullscreen on, click OK
- change the resolution to 1024x768, fullscreen on, click OK
- dreamchess crashes
**in addition, the resolution of X is kept leaving X in "panning view"** where the screen is not completely displayed and user must moves mouse to the edge of the screen to access the rest of the virtual screen.
