Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to
look at all reported bugs in a timely manner.

 I tested tegclient here (16.04) and I didn't get any errors when
starting it either. Based on this and your latest comment I believe this
issue has been resolved, so I'm marking it Fix Released.
