Thanks for the report.  I'll try to reproduce it and let you know if I
can't.

With kernel 2.6 and /dev/input/mice, you don't really need the gpm
repeater.  The kernel should have no problems handling multiple clients
that all want the same mouse.  You might try pointing X at
/dev/input/mice directly (Option "Protocol" "ExplorerPS/2" in
XF86Config-4), and disabling the gpm repeater, to see if that helps.
