Registry in /var/lib - shoudl be /var/cache

        Hi,

 I just noticed that GStreamer is configured with:
    --with-cachedir=/var/lib/gstreamer/0.8

 On my system, this holds compreg.xml and registry.xml, both seemingly
 not very valuable.

 Is there any historic reason to have these things in /var/lib instead
 of /var/cache?
