 I tried giving examples on weird things which are not visible at the
 ELF level, such as "call init() before negociate()" assumption changed
 into "call preinit() before negociate()", or optional things which
 become mandatory, but for which GStreamer is its only "consumer" of
 API, and hence are not in the public API.
