Sorry replied to quickly there. I recall this jadetex bug now (spent a
while trying to debug it, but jadetex is a little difficult to
debug ;) ). 

According to gstreamer Changelog:

2005-08-18  Jan Schmidt  <thaytan at mad.scientist.com>

        * docs/pwg/advanced-types.xml:
          Hack long paragraph into 2 chunks as a workaround for buggy
          jadetex version in sid and breezy that loops infinitely and
          eats all RAM.

So I'll correct my changelog entry to 'fixed in upstream'.
