 One thing I was told might happen is that some *.pyc files are left
 behind when switching from pycentral to pysupport (not the other way
 around I think).  What happened is pycentral -> pysupport -> pycentral,
 but I can't find a scenario where you would end up with -5 being
 broken.

 Are you able to reproduce?  Perhaps you have a dpkg.log?
