Package: thoggen
Version: 0.6.0-2
Using thoggen 0.6.0-2 from the Etch repositories.
Program seems to be operating normally but roughly 2/3 to 3/4 through
encoding it seems to cease encoding. The CPU usage of the thoggen
process drops from > 90% to < 2%. The process status moves to "sleep"
The GUI of the program is responsive. You can move it around, navigate
the menus, pause and unpause. When you pause, the preview pane updates
with PAUSE across it. When unpausing, nothing seems to happen (besides
the button and log show that the encoding pipeline has switched back to
PLAYING.
The log only shows 3 items that are possibly a concern:
1: "FIXME: gst_mpeg_demux_sync_stream_to_time" - right after selecting
audio stream
2: "GnomePowerManager::Inhibit failed: Method "InhibitInactiveSleep"
with signature "ss" on interface "org.gnome.PowerManager" doesn't exist"
- right after "inhibiting power manager" - is also immediately followed
by "(cookie now 0)"
3: "REMOVING DUMMY FAKSINK" - after "dvddemux::new-pad 'video_00'
(using)" and before "dvddemux::new-pad 'audio_00' (using) (a52dec)
(audio/x-ac3)"
The "Time Left" and "Elapsed" fields no longer update. Speed shows 0.00
frames per second. It should be noted that the incomplete .ogg file
plays fine up until the end (where the stream cuts off, being incomplete)
I have only tested this with one DVD - it appears to happen directly
from the drive and from an .ISO created by both 'dd' and 'dvdbackup +
mkisofs' The DVD in question I would rather not disclose unless
requested for legal reasons (USA).
Other information about encode from log: (unrelated info clipped out)
dvddemux::new-pad 'video_00' (using)
dvddemux::new-pad 'audio_00' (using) (a52dec) (audio/x-ac3)
Size 3 = 480x236 (cropping=0L,0R,66T,62B)
Using target video bitrate of 754.
pixel-aspect-ratio = 32/27 = 1.185
I will begin encoding another completely unrelated DVD and see if I can
reproduce this issue.
I have other DVDs available and am willing to help as best I can - I
have an understanding of programming and development but I am still at
the HelloWorld stage :D
