-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
Package: gstreamer0.10-plugins-base
Severity: grave
I get the error in subject whenever I use a gstreamer application
(totem, rhytmbox). It occurs since yesterday, but I do not remember
which updates I (actually, update-manager...) made.
I tried to trace what happens:
with the command 'gst-inspect-0.10' (and debugging symbols installed) I
get an output like
- ---8<---8<---8<---8<---8<
(gst-inspect-0.10:30242): GStreamer-WARNING **: removing plugin that is
still in registry
(gst-inspect-0.10:30243): GStreamer-WARNING **: removing plugin that is
still in registry
(gst-inspect-0.10:30243): GStreamer-WARNING **: removing plugin that is
still in registry
(gst-inspect-0.10:30243): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_object_ref:
assertion `G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed
(gst-inspect-0.10:30243): GStreamer-CRITICAL **: gst_object_unref:
assertion `((GObject *) object)->ref_count > 0' failed
- ---8<---8<---8<---8<---8<
with the command 'gst-inspect-0.10 --gst-debug-level=5' (and debugging
symbols installed) I get errors like
- ---8<---8<---8<---8<---8<

- ---8<---8<---8<---8<---8<
All errors seem to be related to libraries shipped with packages
gstreamer0.10-plugins-base and gstreamer0.10-plugins-good
Errors disappear forcing removal of gstreamer0.10-plugins-base: that way
I get a normal 'gst-inspect-0.10' output (the plugins list).
All said occurs even removing .gstreamer directory in my home; however,
on the database rebuild (first run of a gstreamer program) I get only
one row with
(gst-inspect-0.10:30364): GStreamer-CRITICAL **: gst_object_unref:
assertion `((GObject *) object)->ref_count > 0' failed
at the end of the output. Next executions give results described above.
Bug report marked as grave because forbid the execution of many Gnome
software and core components, gnome-system-settings above all.
