Package: gstreamer0.10-alsa
Version: 0.10.19-2
Severity: normal
File: /usr/lib/gstreamer-0.10/libgstalsa.so
My laptop has three tracks called "Input Source" and three called
"Capture". Gstreamer provides no way to tell the difference between
them, which makes the use of gnome-volume-control nigh-on unusable for
the case where the user wants to record sounds.
I sent two patches upstream a couple of months ago, but have not heard
anything from the developers yet. In light of the imminent lenny freeze,
I request that they be included in Debian's gstreamer packages.
The patches are fairly simple, and merely apply the same technique
already used for the untranslated label of volume-control mixer tracks
to the translated labels for volume-control mixer tracks and both the
untranslated and translated for option mixer tracks.
