Further research shows that this probably is a duplicate of

At least I am getting the same error message:

libdvdread: Using libdvdcss version 1.2.12 for DVD access
libdvdread: Attempting to use device /dev/sr0 mounted on /media/cdrom0 for
CSS authentication
Please send bug report - no VTS_TMAPT ??

Th upstream bug report https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=673118
asks for information about the DVD that demonstrates this problem. In my
case this happens consistently with The Crying Game (c) 2010 Wild Bunch
Benelux Distribution (R) 2012 A-Film Distribution.
