You *could* desactive all applications with editing registry.php
file and set "status=>inactive" on your installed applications.
Anyway, the problem seems to be solved in sid, then I will close
this bug.

You are welcome to help us :-)
The best way to avoid annoying bugs is doing more and more tests
with testing/unstable packages. For example, it's now the moment
to look over new packages which will be in Lenny.
