[Pkg-hpijs-devel] Bug#483205: hplip: 2.8.5 toolbox / device manager shows printer but doesn't allow anything to be done

I think that this is similar to the previous poster.

hp-systray's device manager would show the printer with a red cross mark 
by it. Printing from anywhere and command line tools still work.

When I just started hp-systray from the command line I received the 
following output:

then it hung. It turned out that there was a previous hp-systray process 
hung which I had to kill first to get another hp-systray process working 
and displaying the device manager. When I did that, the printer (HP 
Officejet Pro K5300) displayed without a red cross and actions could 
finally be displayed (although "supplies" remained blank).

Perhaps on upgrade of HPLIP, all hp-systray processes should be 
restarted?
