I was getting frequent crashes in wine playing Killing Floor. The
backtrace had this line:

  3 0x7c3d4f50 pa_memblock_acquire+0x8f() in libpulsecommon-0.9.21.so
  (0x1458e7a8)

I replaced that version of libpulsecommon with the 32-bit version of
libpulsecommon-1.1.so and haven't experienced the crashes.
