I do not agree with your assessment of this bug's severity.

You asked about in what term ia32-libs will be removed. I cannot say anything 
definitive about that at this point. However, what I can say is that it would 
preferedly not be included in the next stable release, but if that seems 
impossible, it would definately not be gaining new rdeps. So whatever we add 
to ia32-libs in unstable, will not be effectuated in the next stable release.
