Not true.

qt4 support is recommends. So you can always chose not to install it.
(Your posted message has this proof at the bottom.

Well things are moving. For GTK, things are moving from GTK2 to GTK3.

No. I do not knoe which package installer you use. But that is
usually configured to install recommends as default. If you are fussy
like this, you just deselect ibus-qt4.

No. But messy dependency structure was fixed.

You can argue that these recommends should be suggests. Well if I do
that, I get another camp of people complaining. Since disks are cheap
these days, I went for the fully functioning system.

If you want to maintain (unusual) minimal system, apt preference is your
friend. See my Debian Reference:

2.7.5. Blocking packages installed by "Recommends"

You just have to learn how to use the package manager.

Sorry. 0.8 was broken. Wait for 0.9 This was my bug.
It should give you good guidance :-)

See these are "RECOMMENDS" You are missing all. So you are using xim

Since this is not a bug but user a support, I will keep this here and make
this wontfix.
