Hi,

Thanks Jeremy for your good work on Ubuntu side. Now that freeze is
over and I have been working on this Ubuntu merge thing based on the new
1.5.3 package in Debian experimental. (This is not based on your posted
old patch. I did not see cyclic dependency in the new Ubuntu package).

As seen on my recent upload:

ibus (1.5.3-1) experimental; urgency=low

  * New upstream release. Applied patches dropped:
    - the 0001 - 0017 backport patches
    - the format-security patches
  * Merge from 1.5.3-0ubuntu1
    - debian/control:
      + Recommend ibus-gtk | ibus-qt4, ibus-gtk3 | ibus-qt4 instead of
        recommending all of them
+ Suggest ibus-clutter instead of recommending it
      + Depend on dconf-cli instead of dconf-tools
    - debian/rules:
      + Use --disable-silent-rules
    - debian/patches/ibus-541492-xkb.patch: from Fedora, refreshed
    - debian/patches/ibus-530711-preload-sys.patch: from Fedora, refreshed
  * Not merging Ubuntu specific following changes in 1.5.3-0ubuntu1
    - use of dh_translations in rules
    - 02_title_update.patch
    - 05_appindicator.patch
    - disable-input-trigger.patch
  * Update symbols file with 1.5.3.
    - Somehow 1.5.3-0ubuntu1 symbols file is marked these and 1.5.2-3~
      as 1.5.2.

(I have few more uploads following to fix other issues.)

I will close this bug in the next 1.5.3-3 upload. (Maybe I should have
closed in -1 but I was not sure of its quality. Now I am comfortable.)

As for main package dependency of ibus, I decided to follow the Ubuntu
practice to make difference minimum. (This cause many Debian
installations miss qt4 bindings. Let's see how many people complain.)

As for symbols, removing old version tags are cleaner but since they are
harmless, I kept them as they are. See Russ's comment:
  http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2013/07/msg00615.html

I have 1.5.2-3~ since it had many patches from pre-release 1.5.3 with
new ABIs. I strongly recommend you to check many of those 1.5.2 tags in
the Ubuntu package since they are 1.5.3 as I understand.

If you find any issues, please let us know via BTS.

Thanks again,

Osamu
