I have one sid machine with XFCE (which use tray and ibus-setup).

I get tray turned on and off from ibus-setup GUI.

Since there have been some changes on gnome and ibus package itself,
please check your problem still exist or not.  If so, please consider
file issue to LXDE.  (You can reassign but this discussion has been
quite long.  So making clear case to them separately may be good idea.)

I will close this bug if I can not reproduce it in LXDE.
