[Pkg-ime-devel] Bug#872755: [ibus-gtk3] Installation causes libgtk-3-dev Debian archive builds to fail?

Package: ibus-gtk3
Version: 1.5.14-3
Severity: normal

Not really sure how to report this one since I don't have any real
experience with libraries, but here goes...

When building Debian archives from libgtk-3-dev, the test suite fails on
multiple tests with failures similar to:

/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/gtk-3.0/3.0.0/immodules/im-ibus.so: undefined
symbol: gdk_wayland_display_get_type

Uninstalling ibus-gtk3 allows the test suites to succeed.

Greping ibus-gtk3 source for 'gdk_wayland_display_get_type' comes up
with nothing, and it is a confirmed external symbol in
'/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libgtk-3.so.0.2200.18' according to nm,
however in 'docs/reference/gdk/gdk3-sections.txt',
gdk_wayland_display_get_type is listed in a 'Private' subsection...
haven't a clue what this means in reality (why is it listed as an
external/global symbol if its private?).

Any ideas?

The below info is for this Devuan Ascii machine where it also fails, but
the current tests are being done on a Debian Testing VM (Buster/Sid).
