Probably because nobody implemented it. As for supporting bnx2
offloading for the root file system: it may be possible, but since
I don't have access to any relevant hardware, I can't really test
it. I'd like to support it in Debian if possible, but I don't see
how to do that without getting my hands on that type of hardware.

Sorry. :(

There's a new version of the open-iscsi package in the experimental
repository of Debian now that includes a new package called iscsiuio,
which contains the iscsiuio binary plus automatic integration, if
you want to try it.

If you are running a stretch or sid system, you can add the
experimental repository to your sources.list, and upgrade the
open-iscsi package from experimental, plus install the iscsiuio
package:

apt-get install -t experimental open-iscsi iscsiuio

(Do NOT do this on a stable/jessie system!)

The iscsiuio package ships a README file on how to set it up. Since
I don't have the hardware, I could only test that the program starts
up, but couldn't do any functionality testes.

If you are running only stable/jessie systems: I don't have a good
solution for you at the moment. Once these changes enter stretch
(testing), I might consider providing a backport in jessie-backports,
but I'm not sure yet, because earlier unrelated changes in the
current package make it impossible to downgrade the package again
to jessie.

Regards,
Christian
