One more thing which just comes to my mind: We have currently an account for 
the Pootle server to commit updates made online. How is the setup there? What 
needs to be switched? Can I help you, Christian, with anything? You know the 
deal: Give me a pointer to some information and receive a patch ;-)

Apart from that, if everyone is happy, I would like to do the conversion from 
svn to git with the latest svn data and afterwards ask the Alioth maintainers 
to remove the svn repository, so that noone accidentally commits there.
