yes, we could import the source into git. However, it may be smarter to
drop that package. Upstream is dead, and it has a low popcon score of
152. Moreover, with isoquery you can achieve nearly the same result with
up-to-date data.
There are some minor differences, as I can see: With countrycodes, you
can search for a name and get the corresponding code. This is planned
for isoquery, however not implemented yet. The other difference is that
you can search for domain names (like .com, .org etc.) and get the
meaning of those entries (e.g. commercial entitiy, organizations). But
that list is also quite out of date. The program does not know about top
level domains like .name, .aero etc.
Question is, do those 152 people really need to resolve domain names? Or
could those people just switch to isoquery and get current data from
iso-codes?
