Hi Daniel,

you're right, those "translations" have nothing to do with the msgid.
They are automatically inserted by the gettext tools, which is why they
are marked with "#, fuzzy" just above the msgid. Those strings are
intended to be a help for the translator, although I have to admit that
this feature of gettext is of little use for iso-codes, because the
strings are so short that the automatic matching usually yields no
sensible results.

Please note however, that those "fuzzy" strings are never used in the
final translations available in the installed version of iso-codes, they
just appear in the .po files and the git repository.
