Initial Comment:
with gettext 0.19 and iso-codes 3.54 I get the following error:

$:/tmp/iso-codes> make
Making all in iso_15924

/usr/bin/msgfmt --verbose --check -o bg.mo bg.po
27 translated messages, 6 fuzzy translations, 136 untranslated messages.
/usr/bin/msgfmt --verbose --check -o el.mo el.po
el.po:9: warning: header field 'Language' still has the initial default value
/usr/bin/msgfmt: found 1 fatal error
22 translated messages, 5 fuzzy translations, 142 untranslated messages.
make[1]: *** [el.mo] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/tmp/iso-codes/iso_15924'
make: *** [all-recursive] Error 1


Replacing '--check' with '--check-format --check-domain' in MSGFMT_FLAGS of configure.ac fixes the error.
